The Four Basic Structural Properties of Construction Plywood

Plywood is made from several layers of soft and hard wood which are glued together to create a thick and flat sheet. Structural strength and durability

Plywood is resistant to chemicals
Plywood is well-known to be highly resistant to many chemicals and it is for this reason that it’s used in several chemical applications involving the use of alkaline, and other neutral acid salts. This is because when treated with effective preservatives, plywood doesn’t rust or bulge. Plywood tanks and vessels that are exposed to chemicals do slightly swell, but its cross-laminated structure will significantly lessen any structural changes. The lamination feature also helps to prevent leakages in plywood vessels.
Fire resistance and insulation ability
To make it fire resistant, plywood is treated with a chemical varnish. What’s more, the applied varnish is more effective when combined with non-flammable materials, i.e. plaster or leathery cement. This makes it ideal for kitchen construction and designing. 
Furthermore, plywood features a strong thermal and sound insulation ability and this makes it seamless material for shielding the floor, ceilings, roofing and the walls. The insulation makes it energy and cost efficient since it reduces both the heating and cooling costs.
